Removing grille

Hi folks, looked in the archives to no avail. I spent good deal of my Thanksgiving doing what I thought would be an easy adjustment to the hood release cable. Turns out it wasn't and the adjustment screw that holds the cable in place in the release assembly broke off rendering further cable adjustment impossible.

So I have temporarily rigged up the cable to operate through the grille (I cut it) when pulled.

However, I have a new cable and am going to the dealer to get another release assembly.

My question is, HTF do I remove the grille? I undid the screws at the top and was able to pull it down far enough to get my hands under there but could not figure out how to release it. I pulled the small plastic studs out of the holes they sit in at the bottom, on either side, and for the life of me cannot get the back in. I would just like to pull the grille out for the next round which would make it infinitely easier.

Thanks, this place is a life saver.

Hi Dave

You can do it by stretching the two pieces under the headlamps, but they have a tendency to break.
You need to remove these two side pieces to make it easier.

Got to remove the side repeater signals, then release the grill end's that are underneath the side trim. Pretty simple, but be careful not to break it.
