Has anyone removed the factory roof rack rails on a Discovery 1? I would imagine it's pretty straight forward, but if you know otherwise I would love to know ahead of time. I think that I will need to remove them after I add 2" of lift in order to fit in the garage. Also, any pictures would be great. Thanks!

You will have to drop your headliner (remove visors then the overhead panal & the rear light panal and all the black grab handles then carefully withdraw at a 30 angle from the rear door, wear latex gloves as sweaty hands mark it easy - then with a 13mm socket remove the rails jam a blanket under them or have an assistant hold so they dont mark the paint, goto Napa and get 4 grommets and some good silicone and stick them in and test with a water spray 2 days before you reinstall the headliner.
The easiest way to do this job is to drink some Stella Artios & fire up a husky 66 chainsaw and just cut the desired shape of the truck out of the garage door lintle - will impress your wife with instant creativity!
