Removing steering wheel on D2 - Do you need a puller?

Need to remove the steering wheel on my D2 and wanted to know if should rent a puller or do they come off with just tugging?

Mine came off with a tug. Be careful with the clockspring, and make sure the battery is disconnected before you mess with the airbag.

No mention of puller in repair manual.

I just pulled one off a D1 without a puller. I just banged on each side of the back of the wheel with my hands.

Ok - thanks. I have the RAVE and know to wait the 10 min after the battery is disconnected. Seems like the puller is not needed - thanks
