Rent Iridium Sat Phone

I accidently came across this so I thought I'd post it.

If you're going in the boonies you can now rent an Iridium Satellite phone for $35 bucks a week.

No I don't work for them.

+$75 for a generous 30min plan.

I suppose $100 all-in for a 2 week emergency line would be worth it if you're worried about being stranded.

Their wifi hotspots are iffy price per plan too. The tech support said the download/upload speeds are 9.6kbps. I typed that right lol.

hunters I know rent them. But in the Pines in Northern Arizona, the window for communication is short, in the evening.

Headed back down again in November during the race. Riding to Cabo from SD, leaving bikes there for the winter and coming back to ride back north in the Spring.

Yeah we stopped just north of San Felipe this Spring after riding into the dark. Not fun with coyotes running around in front of you. Really liked San Felipe though and the Baja 250 was going on.

We had pretty solid coverage with some exceptions around Mike's and some remote areas. Bahia LA was damn nice. We logged about 1,600 miles.

There is a really good chance we'll be in the area on the 20th. Should be on the road around the 16th. I'll keep ya in the loop as things move along.

got a 8 car garage and plenty of space...

Great phone for emergencies, we use them on remote job sites.
