A few weeks ago I repaired a set of D1 ABS sensors for a member here. As I said in an earlier post, I will be posting the procedure, along with some pics for those interested in saving themselves hundreds of dollars in replacement costs.
I'm talking about the front sensors, which, due to poor design (imagine that from LR...) will eventually fail because of repeated flexing of the cable at the top of the sensor.
My repair fixes the broken wire(s), and in the process re-routes the cable so that it comes out of the sensor at a 90 deg angle instead of straight up. This configuration distributes the cable flex ad also makes it easier to install and remove the sensors.
