I am in need of replacing the shocks on my 109 S3 station wagon. Do any of you have a recommendation for a specific brand and model shock? OME? Which one? They will need to provide stability when fully laden with my family of 7 and a bunch of kit, but they also need to handle OK when it is just me driving to work (20 miles round trip).

I've got OME. Good shocks. N41 and N46 are what I run. The bushings that come with the N41s aren't correct so you'll need to pick up new bushings. My shocks came from 4 wheel parts, got a decent deal.

Which bushings did you have to go with? Were they OME and if so, what was the part number? Thanks!

I can't remember the part number. Basically, I went back to 4 wheel parts and got the correct bushings off their shelf (were polybushings, their generic brand). Despite being generic, they work well. Later today I'll go dig around in the rover parts pile, see if the package is still in there somewhere.

For the fronts, compare the N41 to the N76. I've heard the N76 is another OME shock that'll work for the front of series rovers.
