replacing 5 windows....

some assholes went around town Monday night smashing up cars. they took out all the windows on the right side, the back door, and the back left window of my wife's '03 DII.

Amazinly only one dinged up window track, looks like they used a ball-bat.

Insurance has it, not a biggie,

BUT the glass shop our insurance recomended just told me they have to order the glass from England, 3 weeks. BS I say, there's more than 2 Discos in this country, it's not a friggin Bugatti.....

I've done some searching, but all I come up with is the "free quote, call us now" ads.

I've used Safelite with my insurance. I checked online and they have a location in Omaha, even gave an instant quote for it. First available appoint was Oct 25th. A lot better than 3 weeks.

The glass that comes all the way from the UK is specially designed by LR to leak oil... Might be worth the wait :rofl:

But serioulsy... I hope they catch the little fucktards that did it and send them to Singapore where they would receive 50 lashes with a bamboo crop. Although your insurance will cover it, we all end up paying higher premiums because of this sort of crap, and the cops just figure "Why worry, the insurance covers it". I just discovered a nasty 8" gouge/dent in the middle of the hood of my D1 last week. I hardly drive it at all so it spends most of its time aging gracefully in the driveway, and now this !!

I kind of wish they'd hit the tail-lights too, the damn things have 1/2" of water IN them....standard, water in, oil out.

there's 3 witnesses to other cars getting hit in the neigborhood (it was about 7:30pm, idiots) with a solid description of the kids and thier car, and a partial liscense plate, so maybe.

SWMBO was ok when I told her, but when she saw the glass all over the baby-seats she freaked out. that's the worst part of it.

back in '99 my boss's daughter drove a RRC. she got tired of it and bought a land cruiser and left the RRC sitting. one night the crackheads came along, busted the window and when we got to work the next day my boss left it sitting. i asked him why didnt he call the cops and insurance, he wouldnt awnser. next day it rained cats and dogs and the whole time he just smiled. insurance came a few days later and looked at the rain-soaked rover and decided it was totalled. he got more money from the insurance than he ever could have by selling it, and I never had to hear him bitch about working on it again.
