Did you confirm that using this tool and the code provided by Robert actually reset your Adaptive Values?
AbnMike,
Yes, the OBDLink SX with robertf's program worked. I didn't use any thing extra software/add-on wise. The SX came with a quick-start guide that included a code to download and run OBDWiz for Windows. Bought the OBDLink SX off Amazon for about $30. That is all I spent.
Key on, ignition off.
After downloading, installing, and starting OBDWiz on my laptop (old Dell XP) I plugged the SX into the OBD connector on my truck.
Then plugged the SX into USB port on laptop and had OBDWiz connect to the SX.
After Wiz recognized the connection to the truck, I hit the disconnect button in Wiz. If I didn't, I got a port in use error message in command prompt.
Loaded up the GEMS program in command prompt. Ran >gems com# reset.
I will mention that I had to do it again after about 150 miles, then again after an additional 300, then again after an additional 1,500-1,700 miles. I probably have some other gremlin running around but after doing it a couple times, it is easy. Thinking about getting the bluetooth connector so I can do it from my phone instead of running laptop out. Or I might not.
