I found an image showing what I think is the reverse switch (right side with the green and yellow wire).

If that is where it is, then I was incorrect on the other switches.

Imagine the most difficult to access place on the R380. That's where the switch is. If you pull the rubber mat from the shifter area up top, you will see the wires running over the trans and down to the switch, just out of sight.

Finally got the b@$tard! Very tight clearance but i managed to get it with an "S" shaped 19mm wrench!

The only thing now is that I keep forgetting I do not have to hold the shifter back while in reverse ;)

Thanks for everyone's help, time and input. It is much appreciated!

Congrats on conquering this! My '96 has had the same problem for years and every now and then I go looking for it... but so far to no avail. Would you mind posting a little more info as to where to look exactly (From the drivers side look through the... forward towards the... and you're close... ;-) and more about how you threaded the "S" wrench into place... Did you tighten or remove and refit?

While I might be able to glean all of this from the thread, perhaps consider it a motivational pep-talk :)

Thanks and congrats again!

Well, it wasn't a proper job :(

Noticed I was leaking fluid and finally traced it to the switch. I guess I did not have it properly tightened. So today I tried to tighten it, and ended up breaking the wires.

Looks like I get to repeat this whole procedure again.

This time I will post pictures and details.
