What you *need* is my International truck.... it's one hell of a Rover hauling beast! :)

Think of what you can tow with it - and what you can "rescue" with it. All Wheel drive, serious clearance and approach angles of 88 degrees if you move the PTO winch! I would SERIOUSLY consider a swap VERY much in your favor for that blue truck.... my wifey even likes it. Just needs an extra set of more civilized tires and a left hand drive swap over. I realllllly like that truck. *makes humping motions like a 14 year old boy* LOL

I need that like a damn hole in the head. If you saw my driveway right now you would understand. You are dead right on the tires, they are bad ass offroad but on pavement they are a little bit much and they make the truck sound like a damn train!

Now that the trails are done, I've finally gotten the chance to clean up the map stuff and we're in the process of preparing the downloadable/hard copy maps. Since all of this was based off gpx tracks taken via either onboard, or in some cases, handheld gps we've had people asking for the gpx as well as KML/KMZ digital products...so here you go:
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=
103665235481000370960.000473f7fe9cc79081b18

The GM link is...tolerable. I do like how the polygons fill in there to show you basically what is the actual wheeling portion of the venue.

If you're interested in the GPX, KML or KMZs shoot me a PM, or preferably an email (ray.gerber@gmail.com) and I'll shoot them to you-I can't post them here as they are not valid file types for attachments.

Shortly we expect to have the pdf(s) done for the handheld maps...more to follow.

*The KML, KMZ and GPX tracks are on the ROAV thread posted so you can download them here: http://www.roav.org/ForumsPro/viewtopic/t=81/start=60.html

A few folks have asked if there would be camping available early on Wednesday evening. The camping will not be available until Thursday morning, as the gates will still be locked. Vendors will be there early getting set up but the owner does not want visitors there until the contracted time. Thanks for respecting his wishes.

It looks like the weather should be pretty good, hope I haven;t cursed us by saying it.

Hmmm... I originally thought MAR was going to be back at the old location for some reason (maybe I'm getting old)... I'm down in FL... I did Uwharrie earlier this year and had a blast... how will this compare? Honestly worth the drive up? I'd leave Thurs noonish... so arrive sometime very early AM. Depart Sunday very early as well.

depends on who you ask...:D

the property is larger, but this is the first year for the event there. Overall the trails are a bit easier. We will be working over the next year to expand the difficulty, but there is a video on www.roav.org to give you an idea of what we have started. No rocks, more sandy soil than the thick clay mud of Pearl's Pond.

I haven't heard of anyone from FL that is going up.
Are you planning on attending the Florida Rally, around Brooksville?

The wife and I need to be in Tampa for a show we're seeing on Friday Oct 23, right now she wants to stay the night there. So we may join in midday or so Oct 24 and camp one night.
