Cool. I noticed they have a number on the cylinders. Honestly I just want to remove the bars to see if a noise I'm hearing goes away. I had a similar noise on my D2 when the cross bars were installed.

I wonder if there is a convenient place for storing the cross bars inside the truck? On my D1 I keep 2 of the factory cross bars under the second row seats. If I'm carrying something substantial on my roof I'll install my Yakima and Thule components, but if I have an unplanned need to transport something bulky a short distance I can pop in the factory bars quickly. I haven't spent too much time in the LR3 interior but it seems pretty well thought out.

Good question. I'm sure I can stash them somewhere. I mean it's just me in a 7 seater.

I wonder if they'll fit in the foot well of the 3rd row with the seats folder down.

After some more googling, it turns out that the lock cylinders on the factory cross bars are made by thule. (I bet the entire thing is made by them) You can order keys from the support link at the top of their website. They are $2.50 each plus shipping. I just placed an order. We will see what happens.

So my keys showed up today from thule. I can confirm that the key order system on their support website does in fact work to get LR3 roof rail keys.

I can also confirm that these cross bars suck to install and remove.
