I have an '89 Classic, and when it rains, or is moist outside it can be rough running. Sometimes it will die out unless I rev it up for a few minutes. I am thinking it is a crack in the distributor cap. what do you all think? Any ideas?

Thanks a Bunch,
Will Bobbitt

Sounds like distributor cap. Next time spray some WD40 on it and see if that dries it out faster. OR spend the $25 and put a new one. One way or the other you will know if that is the problem

We were told the same thing once....you can check the distributor cap and also the ignition rotor arm inside....if they get moisture in there, it really messes with the electrical spark (duh!).

Like Aaron said, try to see if it's moist in there, and dry it out. Also, check to make sure it's secure and that the seal is good. It's an easy replacement.
