Rounded off Drive Shaft Nut

Guys,

I am in the middle of removing the front drive shaft. All of the diff flange bolts came off fine as well as 3 of the 4 TC nuts. One has rounded off and because of the limited clearance, I can't get a bolt extractor on it. Any ideas on how to get it off are appreciated!

Thanks-Sean

1-torch, then drill
2-torch head off, then get vise grips on it
3-torch head off then weld a nut to part of bolt that was in flange.
3 works good. :D

I've used these in some pretty tight places with good luck. Fits metric sizes 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17 and 19mm

Very small one handed hack saw might work too... I have done it that way before.. You need one that the blade just slips into the handle or get a blade and wrap one end in tape and make your own handle.. Then get new bolts however, you are going to have to take the tc flange off to put the bolt back on and you also want to check and make sure that your new bolt is the right length ( dealer gave me ones that were too short the first time ).. I'd torch or try to get the nut off first but if all else fails cut it and replace..

Thanks for all the replies! Dremmel did the trick although sparks flying w/ oil on the undercarriage is a little worrysome.

Agro1- that is the set I tried usually they do fit but the space was too tight-couldn't get a wrench around the extractor w/ the u joint there.

Thanks again...Dweb to the rescue!...now on to more issues!
