I bought this phone a few weeks back via Ebay shipped from Hong Kong.
My first smart phone(yes slow to the game). Runs android 4.0.2 and other than a lame camera works really smooth for the $100 I paid for it shipped.

I bet the lawyers at Land Rover will have this thing out of production pretty quickly. It even has the Land Rover Logo as a start up screen.

No name that I can find other than Discovery V5. I was out to buy the AGM V5 that cost around $400 is supposed to be water proof to the 3 meters, but all the reviews I came accross stated to an older 2.0 android with limited memory problems. It did have GPS but was informed that no North America GPS was loaded on it.
This one is just a knockoff but it does boast IP-67 certified, water submersible, and shock proof. All though I kind of doubt it.

That's pretty cool, actually. I wouldn't mind having a hacked iPhone like that, I definitely wouldn't give up the iPhone for a Droid though

Slightly aside from the LR branding, a few phones that I have brought with me from overseas (quad band, unlocked, etc.) have never worked right with the local carriers, e.g. AT&T; frequent dropped calls and crappy reception. Anything similar to that in your case?

that's why you are still in school. You will learn that Android is for real tech users.

This one seems flawless. Calls are clear without drops and all my At&T sim data functions perfect without me having to spend hours youtubing for info. The only odd thing is a background program running called QQ which is from what I can tell a security function in China(in chinese). I am sure all my personal data is being sent to China for inspection. Internet works great and sets up in a snap. The 4.0.4 android system seems very user friendly.

The "QQ" appears to be some kind of messaging system/app (google search), also available in different languages. If you know Chinese, your good to go.

But you are probably right about China having all your info now.

Neat phone by the way.

All of our phones are from China.

The ebay item number is 181067227617
Fairly new seller from China so I was taking a gamble. I emailed her about color choice before I purchased and she emailed me right back. If you email or contact do so after 7 PM for the time difference.
My order arrived in 10 days.

Hope you don't have kids my 7 year old wants my phone to play games on now.

Is that the Discovery Channel's logo?

When I clicked this thread, I thought you had a phone like mine... where I am always replacing the screen, wiring, or other little bits to keep it going... just like I am doing on my Discovery :D
