its pretty hot today, came home, parked. went inside. went right back out to get something and in that time span my rover was spraying water out of the grill. i was horified at first but felt better once i found out it was just a small slit in the upper radiator hose. i havent moved down here full time so i don't have my tools or not to mention another vehicle, so i walked to wal mart and bought some inter tube, a screw driver, clamps , and 50/50. the zone doesnt have the hose so i'll try napa then if they don't hope that LR buckhead has one. i ran the truck for 5 minutes and my patch didnt leak, so hopefully it will get me to the store. all in all i probably only lost a quart of coolant since it happened with the engine off.

if anyone has a better idea, or a hose laying around on this side of town, let me know. there's beer in it for you.

Take the hose off and take it to a parts store and ask them if you can mill around in there hose bin. You will probably find one that is close enough to the OE one. You might have to trim a little but the hose will be solid.

Cheers,

Mike

Edit: Mark FWIW Brandon did this and is still running the "alternate" hose. Get in touch with him and he may even have the part number you are looking for.

i thought about doing that, i'll call LR first and if they dont have one i'll do that. i'm sure i'll get there with my current band aid. surely they will have a hose though, its a pretty common engine for rovers.....

Are you a crew chief? We used to make F4 tape balls and use broom handles to play stick ball in the Tab Vs in Korea LOL!!

I was for 5 years on 16's. That's funny, I was on The TCTO landing gear team for 3 months and we used to play stick ball every friday, on clean up day. Man, that was a cake job and it beat being on the line.
