Just posting this because its something that shouldn't happen, and others may want to check on their trucks.
I'm driving my 96 D1 down the road the other day, step on the brakes, and the pedal fades completely to the floor. The brakes pump up, then pedal fade again. Master cylinder seals right? Wrong. The next AM, there is a puddle of brake fluid behind the left front wheel, reservoir is empty, and absolutely no brakes. I inspected the lines, and found the the pipe leading to the right rear was installed in contact with the frame rail where it exited the engine compartment. Over the years, vibration has eroded completely through the pipe. Though I've never heard of anyone else having this problem, I thought I'd post it. Its a really easy safety check to prevent a really nasty problem.
