June 25th
Tom Wood Land Rover Customer Appreciation day at RedbirdSRA in Dugger In.http://www.redbirdsra.com
Trailride led by Jim Swett,Camel Trophy veteran.
Could likely use some trail savvy Rover drivers to give real trail rides to those Rover owners who don't want to run the trails on their own.

June 24th,25th is also a overnight trailride at Redbird, come saturday, drive the trails at night(big fun) break in some new rover owners on sunday!

Just posting this for the Tom Wood guys to help them out.

I'll have to see about this one. I will be attending the Formula one race in Indy the next weekend, so we'll see how the money situation will be. Sounds like it would be an enjoyable weekend though.

I might be interested. What type of trails are they running? Are they camping that night?

Jim Swett will be coming in a couple of days prior to the event,he'll decide at that time which trails are suitable,I'm a member of the RedbirdSRA volunteer management group and we're planning to upgrade a couple of trails to more SUV like status(currently most are Jeep size unless you don't mind body damage,I have driven my Unimog 404 through them all though)I spoke with Jim on the phone and we figured 90 inches wide would be a safe gap through the trees. That's what I'll shoot for.We do have trails for all vehicles,so no one should be left out.

What's more fun? Watching people drive their cars or driving yourself?

Im familiar with those types of trails. Turkey Bay OHV is park I frequent with some Jeep friends and I dont think Ive ever been without taking body damage. Im losing track of the number of side mirrors Ive replaced. RedbirdSRA is only about 4hr away, so I will definitely try to make it.

After putting in all the trail prep the past month and a half(couldn't even use some of the stuff we worked due to the wet conditions on trail#1) I kinda bugged out on the day of the actual event,My son had put in tons of trail work this spring, plus he helped with the small lift on the B2 and hadn't wheeled for squat this year.I decided that since we weren't drivin' Rovers we'd just go do our own thing. His wife is due in august(Yikes, that makes me Grandpa:eek: ) and his wheelin chances will get few and far between,so I thought he needed to have some fun.

Hopefully the guy from pitsburgh will actually come get the Unimog, then I'll be looking for a Disco,Brendan keeps buggin' me about buying his white one since he's got that trek yellow fahker now,I told him I ain't even coming to look at it until the Mog departs:ack:

BTW,Ovis looks awesome!

Yes,that's how easy the "customer appreciation day" trails were, but we were trying to avoid any damage to any vehicle,I need to call Brad and Mr Swett and make sure everything went OK on their end.
My son wheeled that B2 in high the second time I took him out,it did fine(essentially the same trails you guys ran,now he knows to hit both buttons on the dash.

We'll be back out soon,I'll let you know,I want to take Brad and his cherokee on trails we couldn't run new Rovers down due to potential damage.Brad worked damn hard on our trails for likely no thanks from above so he's due some fun too. we'll play it by ear and make it a dry as possible weekend for maximum trail possibilities.I have a couple of little spots to work that'll let us run more places with our little 31 inch tires.
