If you have any problems with any of Vigg's products, call the shop and it will be made right.. Vigg stands behind all his work and will work to resolve anything.
Sorry but that is total BS My black out from Viggs would not come off the paper then then got ripped while I was peeling it apart.( I did everything by the instructions. I called Viggs and told them what happend and they said it must have been water damage.....but they did nothing about it so I was out $100. what a rip off

A common problem on cut vinyl is when the blade is set too deep and cuts into the backing paper... makes it a beeyach to get the vinyl off. Soapy water makes it happen since it temporarily makes the adhesive lose it's 'stick.'
The shape of the Vigg one has a better fit than the other brand that I tried first (Chris Hyde's) but Chris made a newer version that's a better fit than the early ones. They're hard to install if you don't know how to work with vinyl and nearly impossible to do by yourself. Having two people to peel the backing is mucho importanto.

My vigg BO came today...didnt fit the hood...package was damaged, took over 2 weeks to get to me and to put a cherry on my cake they creased the blackout through the middle the backing stuck to the decal...I wound up trashing it...Good way to blow $102...I figure if I call and complain I'll only get another one that doesnt match my hood profile again...So I'll just get it repainted like the previous owner did...

Now the first Vigg BO I had fit like a charm and went on trouble free, so Its not a case of operator error...I know how to do this and make it fit...It just didnt match my trucks hood profile at all and UPS did help by bending the tube and therefore wrinkling the decal which probably caused it to pull off the backing paper as I tried to remove it to install it...

Marcus

Hey Marcus, I'm working at Vigg's shop for the day and we're going to ship you out another Disco I hood black out. You should receive it within a few days as it just went out the door. If there's ever another issue its quicker to just give the shop a call (7436839400) and we'll make it right.

Todd, not sure who you spoke with at the shop, but if there is a problem with water damage that caused a rip in the vinyl we replace the black out free of charge. So we just sent you out a new black out today. If theres a problem while installing it, call the shop, and we'll do our best to help you out.

The Vigg product worked great for me. The group buy was also a success, something that isn't always the case with group buys and Rover parts....if you know what I mean!:applause:

Strange, I've never heard of any group-buy problems. Care to elaborate?

KJ :smilelol:

Wow, thanks Mike. I thought for sure It was a hopeless effort to try to get a replacement black out. Sorry I don't recall the person I talked to on the Phone at viggs. Thanks!

I apologize about the trouble you two have gone through. Its always been our policy to replace any products that were damaged during shipping. UPS should be notified when there is an issue of course, and please call the shop as soon as possible so we can send you out a replacement. We will never let anyone go unhappy with our products. Its hard to keep high grade 3m vinyl in stock but we buy the largest rolls we can and cut all of our blackouts by hand.

Anyone can reach me personally at the shop number below, or by email.

yes as i posted previously same problems.
and yes mine was shipped in two tubes and the tubes creased in the middle making the original crease worse.
as i said before they sent me a new one.

i didnt mention before
but it was not cut perfectly along the front(knife lifted and started again) so it dosnt follow the hood outline very well but only i would notice as i installed it.

overall it went on ok and if i complained again they would figure it was an installers problem.
it wasnt.
so i have an imperfect HOOD BLACKOUT that i wouldnt want to try and remove to try again.
but let me say they were good with backing up there product.
i just like things right the first time.

I almost thought they sent me a D2 BO cause the radiis was so much softer than the existing hood blackout on my D1...
But to answer your post Jim it seems we went through and came to the same conclusions regarding the hood black out...

Will Vigg be at MAR this year to sell the hood blackouts and other decals?! I'm starting to think that is the way to go...my hood is faded and has had permanent leaf imprints on it since I bought it!!

Vigg installed mine at MAR last year on the G4. He makes it look so much easier than it is when you try it yourself. :)

He's going to try to make it.. Not setting a vendor booth this year though as we didn't sell much last year (probably due to the rain)... but we can probably do some pre-orders if you want... I'll talk to him and see if he's definitely making it.. I might be swinging down by the shop before I head down there, so I could possibly bring some stuff.

Yeah, I was thinking that would be the place to get it and have someone ELSE put it on CORRECTLY! I would probably f-it up bigtime on my own. I also want the LandRover sticker for the hood....does he make the Range Rover one too?

Ryan, let me know what you find out.
