not looking good for me. pulled the hub/brakes, CV's and front DS as well as the front Diff out. little be of some metal shavings/bits in the bottom of the housing but no apparent source or damage. this is likely a t-case so we're probably out :(

no, how is metal shavings in the diff a result of a t-case?

That's why I said "Wut?"

oh,no idea where the shavings came from (small enough to not be a major concern), the issue is the fact the front wouldnt move at all w/the Front DS connected. remove and lock the CDL and she'll drive fine. We had originally figured the front diff was trashed what with all the noise it was making during driving (after removing the front DS).

Small bit of info i'd left out (as i was not aware nor there for the drainage and nobody said a word), apparently there was virtually NO oil in the diff (hey, its not MY truck).

All is buttoned back up at this point (spent a few hrs saturday cleaning parts and re-assembling). Fresh fluids seem to have made this front end happy. before actually driving, we'll be draining and re-filling the rear end. Will likely get the rear up on stands and be sure the front output shaft on the t-case is actually spinning. only so much time in a weekend...

Hope the event went well, you guys had some fantastic weather for mid-november.
