I just recieved them in the mail and held them up to my housing. Well the ring gear hump doesn't allow it to touch the diff housing at all. Am I missing something or did I get the wrong ones? Doubt it being the wrong ones but... The gap is a little more than 1/4" all the way around.

Let me know,
Jeremy

I'm not sure if I get what you are saying but the guard isn't supposed to be touching the "pan" (the front part that is thin that the guard is protecting), it gets welded the the axle casing around it.

BTW RTE diff guards are all the same...

That is what I thought, all being the same. Yeah, the diff guard hits that pan, the thin part I am trying to protect, before touching the housing with a 1/4" or so gap between the outside edge of the guard and the housing, the solid part of the diff housing. Basically the two mating surfaces have a 1/4" gap...

Ok, now I get what you are saying. Both of the guards you got are like that?

If so you need to call RTE, there shouldn't be any gap there... I've installed 3 sets and none of them have had that problem.
