crown14, you looking to unload those springs?

crown14 is joel, whom i asked to hold them for me. And I'm pretty sure he will being that I take my truck to the shop he works at. Thanks.

Joel, we will be in touch soon. Might have to stop by there soon and figure out how to fit those springs. Do ya'll still have the hi-lift mount for the rear carrier sittin over there? I think i want to pick that up if its still there..

vanhorn - sorry i jumped on ya like that, didnt mean it to be too pushy

rovermech - thats a great lookin truck. We have the rockrover front bumper as well and love it! What springs and shocks did you use to get how much lift?

MikeD - What shocks did you use? And what all did you need to fit the springs? did they just drop in? Do you have a write-up of the install?

Basically we followed Alans tech page on www.rockrover.com but we made different front lower shock mounts using heim joints for the lower mounts and we also shaved the rear lower spring mounts at a slight angle because when we put the rear springs in they were bowed a little. We also made some custom plates on the front to correct the castor. I think the actual lift came out to 3 1/2 inches. The tires are 33 inch. Also if you look at the pic we did a custom snorkle also.

I also went with Alan's setup, I only changed a few things and went with 32" ATs. Planning on getting the Rock Rover bumpers and maybe sliders if I dont try to make my own.

Theres more and more good lookin P38s comin around every day.. I hope RTE and Rovertym can notice that so they can get into this whole new ballgame.

I also have pictures of my lift here if anyone wants.

And just to update that thread: I got the alignment (a long time ago) and its just starting to vibrate again. Still have the side steps (I'll take em off when I get the sliders). And I finally got the black Hurricanes! They look kick ass.

Steve at RTE will try anything, but often he needs to use a vehicle for a week or two to mock against. If anyone with a 38 lives in Richmond, that might move things along. When I asked him about Defender stuff, that was his response.

I have been at the shop when prototype "mock up" activities were going, so I know it can be done.:patriot:

James Dearden recently offered up his P38 to be used for prototyping.

Initially, Rovertym was all for it - then they backed off a bit. Not sure where it stands now, but last I heard, it was leaning towards being a no-go.

James did say there's a company in Colorado (I think...) making offroad P38 parts.

If anyone in AZ, or close to it (CA, NV, NM, UT) wants P38 parts made like long travel suspension or bumpers, PM me.
