i have been needing to adjust the door opening mechanism on my classic since I bought it but have been occupied with everything else failing. Yesterday I went to pull the driver side front handle swiftly and the handle broke right off. the ends are still attached to the mechanism on the bottom but is sharp. I have a spare pass side rear door that I was planning to use the shell of to replace a dented one currently on the truck.

can i take just the handle off flip it and use it on the driver side door as a replacement? any tips? thanks.

Take the complete rear left handle and punch the pin out that secures the flapper to the body of the handle. You can then use the left rear flapper portion of the handle on the front. As soon as I get another Classic in I can hook you up with another door handle.

The other alternative is to use a complete left rear door handle from a DI until you locate one from a Classic.

Yup, that's why I told Ed to take the left rear door handle and use it to fix the left front door.
