Are the front external shock mounts on the EAS RRC able to be unbolted from the tower and axle or is it welded on?

If it's welded on does anyone know of a external mount kit for the front shocks?

The bracket that holds the top mount of the shock unbolts. I hope I understood your question? Not sure, I'm working with an 86 IQ.

They're not heavy duty, but they should work. There is a guy up in buffalo that can get them for you.

Well you can run dual shocks with this setup on heavily loaded vehicles. In my case it's something I'm kicking around in my head and that was my hang up point being able to relocate the front shocks.

There are a few ways to mount an external shock, but if you just looking for a better ride for a fully laden Defender just go with the correct valved Fox or King shock and that will solve youre problems, Blue torch and Balistic both make the correct tabs and parts needed to do all the fab work thats needed to relocate the shocks out bound, I've used both companies parts to do what your talking about doing. If you go with Fox shock I'd use the 2.5 emultions.
