Hello, I'm in the market for Rock sliders for my LWB and I can't find none but the RTE, does anybody knows of any other brand?

I would like something that would follow the line of the rrc' sills.

thanks,
:patriot:

Roversnorth has the Mantec ones. I bought mine on sale, scratch and dent.

I didn't know they had them for lwb.. they don't look as strong as the RTE (what ever that means - my RTE on the Disco rotated...) but they follow the sill lines pretty well.

thanks!

Simon.

I bought them mainly for the price. They have held up well, no problems trying to open up doors after hitting them ;)
:smilelol: exactly!!! mine rotated preventing the doors from opening.. but the worst was when a freaking pebble got stock in the wing gap and my retarded friend keep trying to open the door...

Anymore on the Mantec sliders? How do they mount? I have some on my Defender they seem pretty stout. I am sure they are a lot different than those on the RRC. Anyone else? Seems like the only other option is Rovertym since slickrock isnt making them anymore. I have not seen what Rockware offers.

I have rockware sliders, and they mount to the 2 frame outriggers. they were pricey. About $800 with nerf bars. One reason i bought them was to save on shipping, but then I got tagged for sales tax, which was probably more than shipping anyway.

I put sliders on my 25th Aniv LWB from Inland Rovers in Riverside, CA. If you look on their web site they show a picture of them after they installed them on the truck. I've been happy with them even though I don't take this truck on very serious trails.

www.hicountryoffroad.com has them. They are not listed on there website but he can make them. I bought some and are very pleased with them so far. They are not rolled, so they do not follow the sills( I wish that they did ). But the price was right and they are very heavily built. Denny Doler can make them also. Send him a PM for pics. I saw his on my last wheeling trip and was very impressed. His are rolled and feature built in jacking points.

Good luck.

Yep, Denny and I can make a set for you. Rolled steel for the slider itself allows it to follow the line of the doors.

The mounting is via a U channel that sandwiches the sill and seven 7/16" grade 8 bolts. The slider is 1/4" and the U channel is 3/16". The slider and channel are welded to each other the full length, unlike others which use spacers to clear the A and B pillar.

Price is $750.

Our website is still under construction but we'll have pics shortly.

I dont like the sill mounting. i guess it is the only plce to mount though. How bd do they twist from hit on the side? I like the RTE with the nerf but wonder bout the twisting one could encounter.

Jymmie, we will be the first to say that a system is only as good as its weakest link. If it's too rusted out, then it will be more pliable for the rocks and less likely to bend. It will just conform to the shape of the obstacle. :)

I had a pair of sliders made from "Blackfoot Customs". I believe his website is in his myspace or something, but if you want I can get you his Email. The sliders are at a great price, 350 plus 80 shipping. The guy is super nice with excellent customer service. When I got the sliders they seemed pretty stout. I have yet to mount and use them but had a couple of complaints. The mounting brackets weren't pre-drilled and seemed pretty small to drill a couple big holes through, oh yeah they are frame mounted, the outriggers are c-channel and only welded on one side. This looks weak to me, but I don't know yet. He says it has held up fine and the reason for the lack of a weld all around is because he didn't want to weaken the metal? Not a welder so I am not too sure about that statement. Anyway I have a couple of pics.

*Thought I had more pics. If you want more let me know.

As another poster has commented... Rockware Sliders mount to the frame.

I am sure that they would make an LWB set, but you may need to have your rig there for mounting. The sliders I had on my disco were very , very strong.
