Does anybody know if this pedal box on ebay UK would work for a manual transmission conversion?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Range-Rov...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5ad8eb9311

I have the pedals from a 5 speed disco to bolt to it so they would be the correct orientation and was wondering if this would be easier to just bolt the pedals to than modifying the existing range rover pedal box or the disco pedal box.

Any expert opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I have an original manual pedal box for a Range Rover, and the pedals are a lot different than the ones for a Disco. This includes the way they mount to the bulkhead. The Disco ones have a shaft which goes all the way through both the brake and the clutch while the Rangie has separate pivots. If you get them to work post pics. Would be interesting to see how they work out. The RHD box can be used in a LHD. You just need to heat them with a torch and bend them over the appropriate amount, then quench them in oil to retain their strength. I'm not planning on using the one I have. If you're interested make me a fair offer and it's yours.

I converted my '91 to manual about 3 or 4 years ago. I only had the pedal box from a Disco as well, which is a direct bolt in for a '95 RRC but not at all the same for the '91 so I wound up cutting and welding the pedal brackets from the Disco box to the RRC box, with some modifications to convert it all to separate pivots. There's a dash brace for the '94 and earlier trucks that runs right between the pivots so that lets out the possibility of using the later common shaft style.

Yup - very different. I just finished swapping a 2004 dash and pedals, column etc into my 93. It involved a TON of welding in basically a whole inner firewall support and steering/pedal area.

Like mentioned - welding the clutch pedal assembly (and modifying the clutch lever arm to fit right) to the RRC panel would probably be the "easiest" but the RRC power brake system may be in the way of the clutch master? Unless you have vac assist old school RRC brakes.

That all said the 2004 black dash, column and heater assemblies do "almost" exactly fit the RRC size and windscreen shape. It looks right in there but was a TON of fabrication behind where you don't see. ;)

I would love to see some better pictures of it! I've only seen the three you posted on defendersource. Course I know you are busy with winter romp prep...

Thanks for the offer and sorry for the slow response. I picked up an rrc pedal box on defendersource but as mentioned it's still going to require a fair bit of fabrication.

If I'm not mistaken ptschram used the disco style pivots and trimmed the inner support under the dash which was in the way...I'm still waiting for Doug's tdi 'kit' before I go full steam ahead so at this point I'm still mulling it all over in my head
