Do not do it my friend!

This is my story. I bought a stock 95 D1 for myself, I loved the truck stock. Then I bought a 91 Hunter already lifted as a toy, see where this is going? Wife starts driving the D1 instead of the mini van, so I pick up another Hunter in stock form. At that point wife sells mini van, claims D1 for self. Eventually sell Hunter #2 to put wife in D2 so that I can have D1 back. Pick up a nice 99 D2 from Will for wife, decide to build D1 and park Hunter #1. Put 3 in RTE, RTE bumpers etc on D1, wife says I ruined it. Fast forward to spring, wife goes to SCARR as a passenger, comes home and now my truck needs more lift. Now she wants lift and bumpers on D2, so on goes OME and BFG AT's. Wife is still wanting bumpers, sliders, winch, pelicans, etc, etc, etc.

So in a nutshell, be careful what you wish for. Hope you find her a good one!:applause:

PS, I left out the XD, but it wasn't here for long...

Jason I haven't seen it and not familiar with it....I put the link up because it looked very clean. Someone on LRR might know the person who has it. I'd check that out.

never driven a lwb. Is the 4.2 that much better than the 3.9, or does the increase in vehicle weight make them feel the same? I'd love to get a 95, slap some deeper gears in there and use it for towing purposes.

and then there's my wife who goes backwards and sells lift and tires to Dave so her truck can go back to stock and now wants to sell it.

Never had a 3.9 but my old DI had the 4.0. Compared to the 4.0, my 4.2 has tons of more power, even with a lift and larger wheels. My 4.2 is stock but I'm starting to think I'm one of the lucky ones who got a well balanced engine. Others with 4.2 have driven mine and state mine has more power than their 4.2.

Holy cow, Dave! Great story. I'm hoping to get my wife into wheeling. I figure getting her to agree to sell the mini van to get a RRC is a good first step!

Perhaps I can get her a DD and then we could work on a SWB for wheeling!

John, thanks for the reply. I will put a post on LRRforums. Also thanks for the link on the black 93.

Mark... LWB with folded rear seats has more room than a D1 with folded rear seats.
That said, I absolutely agree on a D1 AND an LWB.

True, a LWB has more 'volume' than a DI. But, sometimes cargo doesn't fit the RRC definition of cargo space. The DI's tall back door sometimes is a big plus.

I love my 92', the plastic in a pre 95' is kinda like a 80's Camaro - cheap and agravating when you have to remove it. I like the extra 8" that the lwb for give for passengers in the back, but it wouldn't help where it matters for me. The cargo area is the same and I am always trying to figure out where to move stuff around to accomidate my trail kits and spare.

Dave, Mindy did the same thing once I got the DII for her. She hasn't driven her minivan in 9 months. And after the first time we took her truck on a camping trip and the tires were like Italian Baldini racing slicks she asked "When is Rosie going to get some cool stuff?". And so it begins. She now has a lift, sliders, steelies with MT's and now she's wondering when she's getting the new front bumper and I swear she keeps backing into the pine trees so she'll get a back bumper too.

Move you lift, tires, bumper, and winch. Then you have cdl and you don't have to do head gaskets.

that has crossed my mind, i'm adding a gallon of coolant every two weeks to mine. I've already got D1 CDL linkage in my truck. I should sell both of them and drive my jeep. Of course first I need to put the go devil back in it and patch some rust. That would interesting.
