any ideas on how to replace the bearings in the rear hub assembly. i have the new bearings but wounder how to get the hub off. is it possible that the bearings have welded together. im fimilar with wrenching on the classic and series rovers but this sport is new to me. thanks

there is alot of special tools used for the repair in the LR maunal hear at work....ive doen a few but they are a pain......you take the rear knuckle off and then press all the old stuff off and press the new stuff on.....trying not to crush the back plate!
what did the dealer want to charge....may be worth it
i didnt get a quote. the reason being is the dealer is 2hrs away. and i dont think it would have made the drive. anyway your probally right. may have to get a tow.
thought id post a follow up. once i got the knuckle off i took it over to my freinds place as he had the press. the old bearing pressed out easliy and in with the new. only problem i had was removing the top bolt that hold the knuckle in place. bolt was rusted in the bushing and had to cut it of. replace with new bushing and bolt. other than that good as new. definitly would not have been able to do the job with out the press.!
