I don't know if the bumper will have to be trimmed but I do know that the mounts are indentical. The big difference between the DI and DII is the height between the bottom of the grill and the top of the frame. If the bumper has vertically slotted mounts you can probably get it to move up high enough for the DII.

D1 Rovertym front bumper will work on the ‘03/04 DII with only a couple modifications. One of the mounting tabs on each side needs to be trimmed by about 3”. The D1 bumper “returns” too far back into the wheelwell of the DII (DII has larger wheel wells), so it was necessary to trim about 2” off of each of these returns. I have mine from my '96 mounted on my '04 now.

It should work. I ran a D1 RTE on my D2 before swapping it with Timmy. Fit fine except it stuck out about 1-1.5 inches into the wheel well. Yours will be a little short, mounting a D2 RTE onto a D1
