Ok, just installed my RTE / OME steering dampner relocation kit on my 88 RRC. Looking at the OME bushings I had 4 bushings and 4 washer cups. That didn't look quite right to me so I borrowed a couple of washer cups from the old dampner. The high side by the frame looks good, but the low side on the drop arm does not. The bracket is not 90 degrees to the dampner, so it is on a bit of an angle and the bushings are beginning to squish out between the washer cups.

Am I missing something?

That said it does drive a bit better. I can definately tell this dampner is firmer than the old stock one.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure on the bushings, maybe post up a photo. the relocation kit I have uses a D2 eye to eye type damper and I cant get bind out of the TRE's. I like the D90 style configuration.

In my rush to get it installed before the wife noticed I was gone I installed the clamp bracket backwards. It has a little angle to it. Everything lines up better now that it is on the right way. There is not much angle, but if you have it on backwards.....

I thought it looked different from my setup.:D
the bushings look squooshed, maybe too big for the washer cup bits?

It looks to me as if there is a couple of cups missing. The bushing in the pic has one cup per bushing, it looks like and is being squashed by the washer. Try putting a cup on both sides per bushing.

There are 2 cups per bushing. After the bracket was reversed it all lined up so the bushings did not bind and squish out. I also eased up on the wrench a bit and the fit is much better.
