Ok you guys, I was washing my truck and noticed a few small dimples signalig rust on the roof towards the end of the truck. Nothing major but a couple of bubles. Mine is a 2001 with 50K... a bit strange isnt it? Does anyone else have anything to say on this as to how to treat, etc? Thanks

Depends, how long you planning to keep the truck. The reasonable quick fix is use a Dremel machine with a pointy grinder bit ,take off the rust not keeping the tool long on the metal, so you will not heat it up and damage a larger area.
Use a drop or two" rust converter "if cant get that, any good primer will do.When dry, work the paint on, drop by drop with the end of a bamboo skewer stick.
Leave it alone 10-12 days, then a little polishing cmpnd.and colored wax at the end.
It may sound crazy, but the bubbles trap water and soon you ending up with holes.
Or, of course you wait a year or two and part it out or have a body job done.

I have a 2001 with 135k,body is perfect but my frame is a write off.

I ran into this with my former 2000 in the rear rain gutters (in 2002). Best to strip the areas as said above. If your not comfortable, a reputable body shop can make quick work of it.

Guys, thanks a lot! Somehow I was real scared of doing this myself, but I guess I have to, and the time is now. As rightfully pointed out, i can totally see how bubbles collect the water (one of them is cracked), so i need to get to it asap. My guess is that it all started because of birdie's crap that was left to sit there for a good month when i was out of town. Is the dealer best to get the right touch up paint from?? Bleinheim silver is the color i need, may sound fancy and look cool but i imagine it will be so hard to work with...
