Rusting Bulkhead on a 110

I was wondering if anyone would be able to give me some suggestions on how to fix a rusting area on a bulkhead. Right now, money is too tight for total replacement and its probably not needed (rust seems to be confined to this area). Has anyone had any experience either welding, repair or filling this or could give any meaningful suggestions? Thanks in advance!

PS- I do have some bubbles on the doors, so I need those need to be fixed as well, but the bulkhead is priority #1 at this point.

I really don't want to blow your bubble here but, rust is usualy 10 to 20 % apparent the rest lies undeneath. I would suggest you to poke around the whole bulkhead and give yourself a better idea of the extent of the damage.

If it is just surface rust (witch I would not believe to be) It would not be too too bad. But I find that if you really want to get away from the rust you have to remove it to properly work on it. And that is not just a 1 day job.

The door pillar area and footwells are the first to go. To do a quality repair you'll need to remove the fenders doors to expose the bulkhead. There is NO cheap way of doing a repair that will last more than 24 months.

Yup.

Proper procedure:

1. Remove fenders and doors
2. Remove bulkhead
3. Remove T-frames
3 1/2. Purchase new bulkhead
4. Visit sandblaster
5. Visit galvanizer
6. Reassemble
7. Drive until you die
8. Bestow it to your great-grandchildren knowing they will actually be able to drive it.
