MTNHDWR- Probably a stupid question, but what model XM do you have. Is it a skyfi? If so, I did you paint it or do they make them in black now? Very nice install. Lot easier to get to then with it mouted in front of the diff selector.

Great thread. Was looking for a place to get OEM to aftermarket products.....unfortunately the Blitzsafe site doesn't have anything for '98' Rovers. Only pre '95', post '98' Oh well. Maybe time to ditch dash controls and go for a new head unit.

erock - AFAIK the steering wheel controls can be maintained with most new units if you change the headunit. I was looking at replacing the factory deck in my DII with an Alpine but decided to go with Nakamichi instead. No probs with the steering control adaptor but I do lose the capability of using the factory 6 disc changer. No big deal in my opinion. It is a pain always reaching under the passenger seat to change discs. This way I have one in the unit instead. But since I got the Sirius, I have yet to bother listening to discs anyway.

Just my 2 cents.

Okay, I purchased the XM Roady2 today. My D2 has the "plugged" hole in the rear on the roof. Has anyone routed any wiring through this? I'd like a nice clean install. Any thoughts? I'd like the antenna wiring to be routed there.

Red,
I am not sure which hole you are refering tof. My '00 dosen't have the hole you are speaking of. FWIW, if you remove the interior pillar column on the passenger side there is very easy access to run the antenna wire out the vehicle, across the top of the windshield, and mount the antenna on the roof.

Between the Alpine windows in the middle of the roof is a grommet filled hole. It may be for mounting antennas. I may mount as shown above. I paid about $140 for the XM Roady2 (incl tax). I've heard and read that XM has more musci and Sirrus is more for sports and talk.
