What is the best procedure to use Sea Foam on a 2002 DII...which vacumn line should I pour the Sea Foam in.

How about a picture?

Thanks

I use the intake hose from the idle control valve. Pull it off where it attaches to the air intake and pour.

First picture is the idle air control valve tube, second is where the tube connects to the air intake. Pour into the tube so that it flows through the idle air control valve.

Thanks for the quick reply...It sounds like the procedure is to run it through the vac line until it stalls, let it soak for a few minutes, restart and wait for the smoke to clear. Do you use the whole can?

Thanks again for your help.

I use the vacuum line off of the brake booster. Either one will work. I don't poor it in until it stalls, I just poor in, very slowly, about 1/3-1/2 can. It will run rough. Once I get it all in I kill it wait about 15 minutes and then restart it.

I used about 1/2 a can and used the vacuum port shown in the photo. I usually has a black cap on it. I just used about a foot of vacuum line and slowly sucked the seafoam out of a container that I pre-measured it into. When the engine would start to stall I would remove the line from the container. I would keep the line just at the surface level of the seafoam so I could control how fast it was sucked into the intake. If you use a larger vacuum source it might be hard to keep the engine running by yourself and you could run the risk of adding too much at once and damaging the engine. Once the seafoam has been added let it sit for 5 min and then start it.

I tried the Sea Foam last weekend and the help was very useful...lots of smoke but the truck does seem to be running better...it seems smoother and more responsive...might be my imagination though.
