My driver's side seat has finally given up. I have a '95 with manual cloth seats. Will any D1 seats bolt in? And has anyone installed aftermarket (Recaro?) seats in their D1?

any manual D1 seat will bolt in...leather and cloth 94/95 and 96 cloth seats, I believe. I have a '94 and am looking for options also....

any chance of fitting electric seats? have my current seats rebuilt? fit RRCs?

I am dumping my electric seat this weekend and picking up manual fronts from a 95 D1....20.00 each and only one small rip in the pleather....

It is my understanding that the seat heaters were not an option on the 94/95 trucks with manual seats.

I've also been thinking about replacing my front seats with later DI or DII models. Been wondering if you could weld an electric seat to the manual seat rails...

Actually I love the manual seats...in most cars I hate them but the Disco seats fit me (i'm pretty short) really well so I would just like to find something with newer leather, more comfort and keep the manual rails.

I think it's just the fact that most of our trucks have split seat leather and I noticed that my headrest handles (the plastic bits) are cracking some.

I took out the seat bottom after it broke and put some stainless safety wire on it and it works awesome cost me $4.00:D

Good idea on the safety wire. Mine broke, I used a couple of ratchet straps for awhile, then I stitched it back together using a sail maker's needle and nylon cord, so far so good (i.e. my fat ass hasn't broken it yet).

Undo the 2 bolts in front on top, and the 2 bolts in the rear (large star bolts facing towards the back) then the seat comes out (at least that's the deal with manual seats), you don't even have to take the plastic side covers off.

Depending on your back's preference, RRC seats (even earlier ones) are much better than any D1 vintage seats.

X2 - My 95 RRC seats are much better than my 98' D1 seats

Do RRC seats fit, with mods, in a D1? Mmmm, don't know but I suspect I will be finding out someday.

With mods, anything will fit. I haven't really looked at the seat mounts, but I can't imagine it would be a very difficult task.

I agree the RRC seats are more comfy (i love the armrests) but I would have to swap out ALL the seats and have them match inside the vehicle to be content with that type of change!

I'm pretty sure someone has put RRC seats in a DI before (I've heard) and I've seen DI seats in an RRC before...

Jeep seats are almost a bolt in. a half hour with a grinder and welder would make them fit. The seat rails are the same, just the width is different. Bestop has some really nice seats that I've considered for my 95.

I had a yj seat halfassed bolted in mine for a weekend while I kludged some electric seat parts to my manuals to make them somewhat usable.
