Self engaging CDL/loose Lo range lever?

Had a couple of odd moments in parking lots recently with chirping tires (yes I do have a Detroit) and realized that the low range lever is moving, possibly engaging or partially engaging the CDL.
Heading underneath it later, but anyone experience this and point me in the right direction?

Transfer Box fluid is low and sound like close to empty. This is a very common problem I wouldn't worry about new seals in the Transfer Box unless it just pours out as you pour gear oil in. "If it's not leaking it's empty".

Sorry to take so long to get back on this one.
I've topped up the box, it was about 15-20% low. Sadly no improvement to report. Thinking Kyle may be right about the Lt230 having internal problems now.....

This is probably unrelated to your problem, but a wagging Tcase lever is a symptom of broken transmision mounts.
