1973 series 3 rhd 109 , I'm thinking about replacing the front seat for obvious reasons and I've either seen or read about people replacing theirs with seats from the junkyard. If you have done this please advise as to what seats are compatible and easily obtained at a junkyard. I'd like something to mount easily into existing base if possible, or a seat that can be mounted with a little modification. Thanks and any info is appreciated.

Saab 900 seats from the 80's. Grind the big rivets off of the height adjusting mechanism and separate from the original rails. Then just make some simple brackets.

I've seen Izuzu Trooper seats installed in a Series. Make sure you get the passenger heater as well when pulling them. It's a nice little unit.
I installed Discovery I seats in my 110. Tight fit with a tuffy box, but went in fairly easy, and think of the comfort!

Don't forget Volvo 240 seats too. If you are lucky you can score them with heated seats too for what that is worth in Florida... ;)

I have yet to really mess with the mounting, but I have some hi-back buckets from a 1988 S-10 Blazer that fit real nice. I think with a relatively simple bracket they'll mount fine.

Dont know if you all can get them or not but the seats from a military Hummer fits. I have one here and am going to work on mounting brackets soon.

DRMO should have them if you live near a base.

I will take pics if anyone is intrested.

Yes, occasionally they can be found at a price that does not include them having been farted on by the Queen.

Smittybilt seats are the ones I am going for. Way cheaper than Exmoor and Bestop seat replacements. Exmoor would cost an arm and a leg from over seas, and the Bestop were shown to me for $600 on sale for the pair.

Smittybilt's have been quoted to me for $400 for the pair! Not a bad deal at all.
