Nice, Mike!

Good to see "Kahlua Kate" being resurrected!

That thing is going to be awesome.

Nice!

I hope a "rover purist" has a heart attack when he sees that.

Got any line drawlings and measurements of the frame? Looks like a dam good idea.

More info please!

Thats what I'm talking about. I hope one day my 109 will get a similar drivetrain.

What wheelbase you gonna be using? I assume you'll be stretching it?

100" wb? You might want to consider stretching it a little more. 106~112 seems to be the sweet spot.

What suspension you gonna be using?

Can I assume those are red label crawlers? Red labels are the shiznit.

we are making some good progress on this rig.

just to elaborate, the frame is 3 x 5 box - 3/16 wall...w/ 1/4 wall cross members at each end ("bumpers")

front springs are OME YJ springs ..... rears are OME Euro-spec Isuzu Dmax pickup

rear axle is a CUCV 14 bolt - 4.56 rear w/ Detroit

front is a dually Chevy D60 (4.56) converted to single wheel w/ new GM hub assemblies

the crawler in the pic is a red label..........it's my "mock up" 40 we keep around the shop. I think the latest decision on this truck is 40" Iroks on Trailready Beadlocks.

as far as the wheelbase goes................this thing is short....we tried a few different WB's but 100 seems to fit the body the best....... so that is where we are.

Hmm. Interesting. I mentioned the longer wheelbase because "thats what everyone else is running" and it seems to work better. But it sounds like you've got a plan.

What gears in the atlas? I reckon its significant since the axles aren't providing the "bulk" of the gearing reduction (compared to 5:38s that many other peoples use). Don't forget the 1350 driveshafts!!

1410's son.....it's all about 1410's ;)

we are using an sm420......so if we do an atlas for mike it wil most likely be a 3.8

we are still in a pretty early stage of this project build so there are a lot of ideas flying right now.
