Service Engine Light

I have a 95 Disco with 107000 on the clock and my sevice engine light just came on i read the tech sectoin and many other post and it talks a about i little red box under the passengers side right kick panel i have had that panel off three times and i do not have that box !!!!!!!!!!! what gives>

Your 1995 sounds a lot like mine. I was told that the OBDI box was under the front pax seat too. Its not there.

Look under the stearing column for an OBD plug. That's where I found mine on my 1995. Some exports came with the module box under the seat, others came with the plug under the dash.

The thing of it is though, you need the OBDI reader to reset the light. An OBDII (like the Auterra one I have for the RR) will not work on the OBDI box. In hindsight, I'd wished I'd bought a dual I and II reader.

Strange

Is there any relay or box of another color that has a sticker or label on top ? I hadn't heard that MY95 had this located differently. Mine (MY96) looks more brown than red and is located exactly as shown in the tech section.

It's a reddish brown box under the passenger seat, you do not need the OBD-I connector to extinguish the emission service reminder light.

The little brown box is located under the passenger seat in 94' 95's, and behind the kick panel on later years. You can either push a paper clip through it, or unplug it and throw it away.
