Alright I first noticed this problem when I was on my way to Red River Gorge for a weekend of wheeling on Friday night. It was about 9:15 outside of Lexington, Ky on I-64 when I looked in my drivers side mirror to pass someone. What I found was smoke rolling out from the under side of my truck, checked the other mirror and found the same thing. I pulled over on the next exit, popped the hood and absolutely no smoke. Crawled underneath and noticed that I was dripping fluid, turns out to be transmission fluid. I pulled the dip stick and it appeared that I had lost a little over a pint from when I just topped it off that afternoon.

After deciding that I shouldn't make this trip I headed for home. I spent the majority of the next day, Saturday, attempting to locate this spilage. After pulling it into the shop, wiped everything down, put a little fluid in, and started it up, no fluid would come out. In return I pulled it out of the shop, drove it around the block, returned and still no fluid. I was very confused so just called it a day after a couple of hours of this.

Sunday did the same thing. But this time it was even lower so I added a quart of fluid, still low. Started adding the second quart when suddenly the fluid stopped going down the funnel. Pulled the funnel out and all the fluid started to pour out the dipstick. But when I started it up after that there was still no leakage. Confused, I decided to drive it around some at higher speeds. What I noticed was that when the transmission hit overdrive the fluid started to leak. Even more, it was coming out of the dipstick. Like some sort of back pressure pushing it out.

Well there is the problem. I am recieving varying fluid level reading because it is coming back out the dipstick. From the best that I can tell it is only happening when it hits overdrive. Does anyone have any suggestions on what is wrong, or how I can fix it?
