What aftermarket shocks can I use for my 2000 Discovery 2 with ACE (I don't have SLS).

It has about 67,000 miles on it. should I consider upgrading the springs at the same time?

thanks.

LR spec'd a different OEM shock for D2's equiped with ACE and w/o SLS. Front = LR#Part No. RNB103683, Rear = LRPart No. RPD102343 (I think).

OME and Bilstein are popular aftermarket brands of shocks, but it really depends upon what you want to do with the truck.

Same with springs, depends on what you want to do...OME and Rovertym are two popular spring choices.

If you're not planning on adding a heavier bumper, winch, bigger tires, lift, etc. -- the factory springs and factory shocks work fine, IMO. I would suggest them over something Sears or Midas might install:) I would say that at 67K you may replace the shocks, but the springs on a stock vehicle should still be ok.

If you are planning on making some modifications, do a search on here and research the whole thing. Seems like lots of guys start with the OME lift and then later wish they'd installed the RTE kit....
