after seen this Video I have some respect for Troopers

I knew he was going to flip that thing eventually.

A trooper is a trooper. A midsize Japanese utility vehicle from a company that has not for a long time actually had anything more than a brand. I liked the old Troopers, and the last model that wasn't just a rebadged Chevy. I wouldn't buy one, but I liked them.

Go to their website now, it's a joke. They make cab overs, and that's it. Everything else is simply a Chevy.

Well, maby I would buy one, but not as daily transportation. It would make a fun toy, though.

Cheers,

Kennith

I feel that it's not so much, what you drive, but where you go! As long as "you like where you are"... Who cares how you get there!

I have a good friend who drives a 94/95 Trooper (the newer body style) that has about 240K miles on it. He bought it brand new and it's been a great vehicle for him. The little bit of wheeling and off-road driving it has done was fine.

However, I have pictures around here somewhere of a Trooper trying to yank a Jeep Wrangler that was high centered...the thing wouldn't move...just kept spinning in place (and the dirt was dry). Hooked up the Disco, didn't even engage the CDL, and it crawled right out and pulled the Jeep. The few times we wheeled with the Trooper guy, he always had trouble (on Shoe Creek)...only thing that helped was getting bigger Mud Tires, but I was never as impressed with that truck as I have been with others. Not saying they are crap, because I've always sort-of liked the old ones, but they don't really impress me off road like a Rover does.

:)

Either way, whatever you drive, have fun.

ok, you win. isuzu's are fantastic vehicles, more reliable, and easier to maintain.

you've done an amazing job proving your point. we all see the light. it's abundantly clear.

so, again, go ahead and "sign out forever" anytime now.

All of the old box type troopers I have ever known have blown there head gaskets and burned up motors. In fact I think mine is on its 3 engine and 2nd transmission and it is not even 230k yet. In fact both of my rovers when I had them at the same time broke down less than the trooper did in the same time span.
