D1 Wiper blades are smaller.. right? or am I wrong there. I thought the DII blades were longer because the DII windshield was redesigned and made taller.

you replace the d2 arms with arms from a d1 and then buy any type of wiper blade you want

ahhh ok... gotcha haha. Brain fart.
But if you buy the kit from EE doesn't it come with 18"? Thats how I read it. Would I just buy the DI arms and then have to buy 21" blades?

The DI arms are actually LONGER although the DII glass is taller... If you run the DI arms, you have to run 20" or shorter blades even though a stock DII blade is actually 21.25" The funny part about the stock DII arms/blades is that the centre point/pivot of the blade is not actually in the centre of the blade.
I run 20" Anco Winter blades on my DII w/DI arms and the passenger side blade is .25" from the a-pillar.

Thanks for clarifying all that info for me. I think I might make the switch once these go bad. I got really annoyed because I didn't have winter blades and the flex arms kept freezing up and getting snow in them. So I had to buy the ones from AB.

FYI - Wiper blades for DII are backordered from EE right now. Ho said he should have more of them in a week or less.

Well, the way things have been here in TX and surrounding areas, there is no need for wipers or replacements because we have no rain...

I made the swap on my '04. The DI arms don't have that nice, chunky look the DII arms do, but they work fine and let me drop in any rubber I want.

I just paid the $60 for the winter DII blades from Land Rover, I bought them from AB last week. I am not inpressed at all with the quality. There is a stupid metal adapter that is just pop-riveted onto a cheapo winter blade. Looks like a $10 set. I bet that they last a couple weeks. I am going to have to try the new Sillblades when this set goes bad(which will be soon).

I have used the Land Rover Winter Blades for my DII the past two seasons. They are rather dorky looking... but solved the freezing blade problem and have worked flawlessly.
