I noticed the same thing too. Although sometimes I've gotten it to work in the evenings.

Taken from the "Home" page...

"The site is going to be slow. And its going to be up and down. Its more of a "Beta Site" right now then anything else as the server hasn't reached it's final resting place. "

Gathering from other posts, the administrators are;

1) opening the site during selected hours, as you noted, mostly throughout a 9-5 EST business day it seems.

2) during that, they are limiting the number of people who can access it (thats why occasionally you'll get into the site, but it will give you a Server Unavailable message (or similiar).

Maybe I'll start my own site

It's too bad this site is ineffective because many people have relied on it. I think I'll start my own site......stay tuned.......

I won't be able to hit it from work, but can hit it from home in the evening for a few days. Then I can't hit it at all for a few days. Then I'll be able to hit it from work, but not from home for a few days. Couldn't hit it this morning at work, but it's working fine from the house right now.

But it's all cool, no matter what......

Once Kyle can find a good affordable uplink, it'll be great to have it back steady. Til then, so what, I'll check in here when I can, and when I can't, no biggie. Life goes on......

PS:

Koby, I love all the little smiley-dudes you come up with.... :)
I concur: anyone who wants to start there own site, go ahead, I'd like to see how they handle the bandwidth, if, if they get the kind of traffic that this place does..... I mean, c'mon, even with how it's up-n-down, we still already have 867 members.... that doesn't happen w/o there being serious hordes of folks trying to get in here......

I have this theory that if you do not like something then go somewhere else. IOW - it is easy to get the PHP/MySQL website setup. So go ahead and see if you can generate enough traffic to create some issues.

Personally, I kinda like the site not being available all of the time. I surely have been a lot more productive since the transition. I say keep on keeping it limited...at least until I catch up on my productivity goals. :D

One thing I do not have is 24/7 access. Ron & Koby I am kinda thinking that there may be someone in your IP range that does. :rolleyes:
