I'm looking to protect the sides. I know Pangolin4x4 makes a medium duty and heavy duty sliders.

If you have sliders on your Series, who's do you have?

Thanks,

Ike makes nice stuff, so it's good to support that. A few years back I picked up a set of the RN sliders...galvanized, sturdy enough...it would be nice to compare the two side by side though...but certainly, get them dipped.

I'm planning on buying the Pangolin ones for my 88 when it starts going back together - they look great.

I've got a set of Ike's, galvy, seems like I posted a pic recently, but here's another one. The install was not too bad, just a minor trim here, a little grind there and new hardware for the front frame outrigger. Look great on the 88 IMO, and can help keep me from banging my hub. Tough too.

There is no doubt: Ike makes a damn nice slider and all of his products are VERY VERY nice.

When I decided on sliders and skids for my 109, I went straight to him. He quoted me a significant proportion for just the sliders, then A LOT for the gas tank skids. Once again, what I would have gotten would have been excellent in style and quality, but not excellent on my wallet.

I ended up having a local shop make these guys for me. Basically a 2"x4" piece of steel with 2 2"x2" braces welded to the frame. The gas tank skids bolt to the braces with some tube. Both sides have the sliders and gas tank skids (dual tanks, MOD truck). The shop had me done and out for under 500 bucks bottom line. They aren't as pretty as Ike's, but they work unbelievably well. I've bashed the shit out of them, pivoted the truck on them, jacked off of them, been side swiped by a honda, everything. Body still well protected and the vulnerable gas tanks as well. They also stick out a wee bit and work as a step as well. Also no rubbing with my bigger TSL tires.

Ah. Sorry - they do look more like the ones that BLRS make, but their site is acting up right now, so I can't see any of them, but it's www.blrs.co.uk whenever it starts working.

I called Ike and his sliders are back ordered for twelve weeks, three months! I dunno if I can wait that long since my Series is going to be painted any day now. Once it's painted, I want to wheel it asap. Even if I don't wheel it right away, I'd like to have some side impact protection.

Has anyone had experience with RN's sliders? They cost just about the same as Ike's non heavy-duty sliders, $310 vs $300

Ah, and thanks everyone for your input. The thing I don't like about Ike's HD slidersis that they stick so far out of the body. My dislike is purely aesthetic, even knowing that he makes them more stout for heavy use. It's particularly pronounced on the 4th pic of the red Series truck on his site.

Anyway, any feedback on RN's sliders would be greatly appreciated!

That looks like Jude's red SIII in pic #4(friend of mine)!!
I actually like that aspect because it gives you a little step there...

I went with the RN ones. They did the trick for me. I was not looking for the galnaized look, although I do like the look of the pangolins.
