If you use a decent volt meter you should be alright. My meter has a 500ma fuse. A .5amp draw will kill a battery over night. So you should be able to see anything that's killing your battery in a day or two without issue.
I put one of these on.. If I go out camping or deep into the desert I disconnect the battery! Or if Rover going to sit for a few months I'll cut it off to save the battery.
I have that one on of TRs because it sits all winter. If I can’t track down the issue I suppose I could go that route. havent had time to get back to it as of yet.
