Ok, Now that its getting warmer I will have to roll the windows down, so time to finally fix this exhaust.. It smells bad! Not like rotten eggs, but just bad gassy exhaust...I even smell it on my clothes sometimes afterwards.. It is the original system with new manifold gaskets..
I have a feeling the guts of my cats pushed thru in the past.. Can this be the problem?
Should I have new cats welded on?
No CEL or codes on OBD1

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated..
Thanks

I have the same problem. I did notice that running higher octane gas (premium) seems to help. I also changed out plugs, wires, & my cap / rotor. I would be curious to see what other things would help as well.

It could be as simple as a split vent line on your fuel tank. This has been written up several times if that's what it turns out to be.

Really, I did not see any write ups pertaining to this..
Where would I look on the truck to find the vent line?

Thanks

I also received a new fuel tank/pump from land rover years ago.. Do you think that is something that may have been replaced while putting the new tank in?

Thanks

Walk to the back of the rover while it's running and sniff the exhaust (ONCE!) and if you smell a lot of gas in the exhaust, then yes put some cats back on. If you don't smell it, start looking for a leak.

Do you not run premium?
