Well, I need a good pair of snake boots. Me and friend are going to be hunting a place in south GA this year and I've seen a few too many snakes to feel comfortable. Use to seeing them in TN, but I haven't seen them like this since I was a kid in Louisiana.

Whats the dweb preference? I'm looking at some chippewas and danners, don't really want to spend over $300. Easy to break in would be a plus. Don't want lace ups particularly.

You should use gaiters. They make gaiters specifically designed for snakes if that's your thing, and they are cheap. You can also remove them for comfort when required.

You've got to watch out for high strikes, and gaiters go higher than any boots you'll want to wear. Fat lot of good $300.00 boots are if the bugger strikes above them, and that possibility alone completely defeats the purpose of any boot that doesn't lace above your calf.

Do it right, get whatever boots you want, and pick up some gaiters.

Cheers,

Kennith

It's just too damn hot to wear those. We've seen a few rattlers and cotton mouths and I'm glad I've had the boots. I'm not like Chris, all about picking those little bastards up. Started bow hunting this year so I'm in the woods a lot earlier in the year than I usually am so I'm glad I got some.
