Damn, I don't remember my Picasa account. I miss the days when we could upload pictures to Dweb.

Darn it, Im still on for anything; It would suck to cancel a snow run on account of the snow... what do you guys say? will it get any better by Saturday?

No it won't get better by Saturday. Let's do this next weekend.
I spoke with the guys in the club Monday night. They didn't even make to Reddish Knob. Stone Camp will be out of the question.
The mountain got dumped on last night and today and with the wind gusting in the tewnties down here I'm sure the mountains are getting in the thirties or so. The 6 to 8 foot drifts will be up around 10 to 12.
Plus the fact there will be heavy traffic with the Maryland people.
So, how about next Saturday?

I can't make next Saturday (2/20).

Reddish Knob is to the south. I wonder if one can make if from the road to Sugar Grove north to Flagpole and down Dunkle Hollow to Skidmore. That bypasses Meadow Knob.

Among the food I hoarded is 4 pounds of ground bison for our Snow Run grilling. I'm eating it now that the trip has been cancelled. I'll be making bison chili later tonight.

People from Maryland suck. Although, we broke the snow record today. It is pretty harsh out there now. I didn't bother to go out today - the first time since the big snow. I just got word that I won't be working again tomorrow.

Frankly, I'm burning out on the snow. I'm pretty sore from shovelling. I've had a lot of fun; but, I'm ready for 70 degree weather now.

This has been an annual event for the last 5 years. The last 2 years haven't had any snow.

I'll be there 1ish. It starts at 11:00, though. The tastings don't get interesting until 3ish when Neil has had about 3-bottles too many.

So, I am assuming there will be food as well?

Is there any sense in Driving the Rover? I have an Acura MDX and Vovlo that get much better mpg

LOL, not trying to be a downer; I just know the limitations of my truck. I got stuck in the Church parking lot next-door and it took over an hour to winch out. Lockers helped, but once that snow packs in you're done. http://www.sv4w.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10002/Snow~0.jpg
How deep was the snow? Was your truck digging down to the payment or riding above the snow?

Here is my biggest challenge:

I was told it measured 34 inches deep. My truck was riding about 8 to 12 inches above the payment. I didn't dig in.

Perhaps, Garrett or JB can give you some tips on driving in the snow. Maybe, your truck isn't set up right. I hear JB has a bad ass truck.

If were only as deep as the pic you posted then we would not have a problem. But it's much deeper than that. We have 4-foot drifts in the backyard now. They had 10-foot drifts yesterday 2/3rds down the mtn and the wind was not blowing like it is now.

If you want to try a snow run, I'm off tomorrow. We can go where ever. But Saturday there are other things I rather be doing.

It took Garrett 2 hours to go 5-miles today. JB can't even get out of his yard.

I believe you about Stone Camp/Meadow Knob. I just hate to let Marco down.

I wouldn't be able to get there until mid-day tomorrow. Odds are that I will have to work Friday. I'll probably make a day trip to visit mother at the old folks home Saturday.

I don't get it - I hear JB has a bad ass truck.

Sorry, if I come off as a cyber bully.

There's gumbo and snacky type food there, we'll probably bring a few munchies as well. Possibly an after party somewhere, playing that by ear :D

Might as well leave the Rover home prolly and drive one of your dependable cars.

Remember, according to Susannah, that's not real gumbo.
Dennis usually has a pretty mean chili going too.
