so, i replaced the engine, now it overheat and coolant overflow..

its an 03 disco II, i replace the engine cause the other one had a rod go through the oil pan :).

yep, the hose below the thermostat always stay cold though, all the other ones are hot and full with coolant...im thinking it the compressed air from blown head gasket preventing the thermostat to open....or am i wrong?

did you replace the thermostat? i would start with the cheapest possible fix first! it very well could be HG. do you know anything about the engine you installed?

engine with 83K, has good compression...
is there any other reason the water wont circulate ?
can i find that thermostat in auto part or only dealer ?

thermostat hooked right.
i dont think i mentioned that i put in p38 01 range engine, do those have the slipped liner too ?
i will start taking it apart tmrw, and get down to the head gaket and see whats up with it.
