Back in the day I was able to find MSD 8.5mm wire kit for my disco.

Now vendors refer me to universal diy kits.

Does anyone know a part number for a MSR spark plug wire kit that will have the necessary lengths for the Disco???

I don't have experience with MSD's. I've been running 8mm STI's for four years with no issues. They're only around $30 a set.

For a GEMS truck, I am not sure I'd use MSD low resistance wires. Generic kits seem to be okay, especially because GEMS is a lot better at detecting misfires than 14CUX.

I also had great luck with STI. I know people also like Kingborn? If my memory serves. Not sure I would spend the extra money for this application.

I've ran Kingsborne wires and I was very pleased. Their shipping was the only part I didn't care for, but I just looked and they now offer a 16.10 UPS rate vs before when it was nearly 30.00 something to ship.

Had Good luck with STI. But I ohmed out a new set and 2 were double the longer ones. Emailed them with receipt and they sent me 2 more to replace them ASAP. Never checked the first set I just sent them and worked good till I pulled some boots off.

Recommend checking any new set as this does happen and most people never notice.

I use the Karlyn sti wires at the shop. On my 14cux cars i make my own with the MSD universal ones so i get an exact length. I am a stickler for a clean run of wires. 30 years ago i worked at a tune up masters and we had a work bench with spools of wire, every lead and end and when we did wires on a car i made every one. So making wires is really no big deal.

I've run Kingsborne and STI. Could not detect any difference. Kingsborne are nearly 2x the price of STI at this point.

Look for Karlyn / Bremi / STI 663 at rockauto. FCPEuro has the same for a very similar price.

Same here. I've run STI, Bremi, NGK, DUI Live Wires, and Magnecore.

The Live Wires are overkill, Mangecores are high quality, maybe better than Taylor.

I run the expensive stuff on built engines because it looks cool and why not at that point. STI and the like are just fine for stock trucks.
